Area Organisers Needed

With a Little Help from our Friends….    Area Organisers Needed

We’re proud to advise that Sportability now operates in 13 regions of the UK, and we are looking to expand!

The growth of the Charity had been driven by a network of key volunteer supporters – our Area Organisers. If you’ve ever been to a Sportability event chances are you’ll be there because of them.

These are our local ‘heroes’ based out in the regions, who source Service Providers, organise the events, act as our Ambassadors, provide information, stimulation and inspiration to people in their region. They are the face, the […]

A Quick update on our Champion Patron, Trish Deykin

Trish will be racing at the European Champs in June 2017, which are being held in Dusseldorf, and she has also qualified for the World Champs in Rotterdam.

This will be Trish’s last year in international racing, but the unstoppable competitor will still be battling in the British Champs and local races.

We wish Trish the very best in all her endeavours!

Largest Personal Donation to Sportability

Satram’s Days
A magnificent gesture!

We are honouring a man who never even heard of Sportability, but this month sees a very special first in the history of the Charity, and he is the unwitting ‘sponsor’.

For the first time ever we will have three events on the same day in different regions of the country not once, but twice, during August. These have been funded by the single largest personal donation we have ever received.

Satram Chainani lived in Bombay [now known as Mumbai] on the fifth floor of a run-down tenement. As a wheelchair user he was grateful for the use […]

Back2theTrenches and Sportability – 2017 Dates

Back 2 The Trenches lives up to its name with a military-themed obstacle course set in 250 acres of private estate, with natural hills, lakes, fields and woodlands. Only the brave survive this extreme obstacle mud run, with barbed wire crawls, hill climbs, mud slides, ‘minefields’, a lake crossing and the all-important trenches!

Join our fundraising events and push you and your friends to the limit with choices of 5k, 6k, 10k, 12k, 20k or 24k courses.

Fantastic Fundraising Effort from Jane

We are thrilled and a little in awe of our stalwart member, Jane Mackenzie, who has managed to raise the Magnificent sum of £600 for Sportability at her recently held coffee morning. In Jane’s own words read how Sportability has changed her attitude and life:-

“When you become confined to a wheelchair, you could be forgiven for thinking that life as you once knew it is over and from now on it’s a matter of making the best of a bad job. I won’t lie, I have definitely had those moments and in those moments the future does seem very […]
