We had to hold the wheelchair to offset the recoil, but within a couple of shots James had got his eye in and was popping clays out of the sky as if born to it. This was a clay day a Ramsey Sports in East Anglia, but you could also try in our other regions. There’s a mix of shotgun shooting at clays or pistol and rifle shooting at targets. We’re even planning some inside stuff for those chill winter evenings.

True we sometimes have to assist with an armrest or a Velcro strap or two, perhaps adjust the wheelchair angle, but we haven’t had a dropout yet. And the proficiency, once the initial handling becomes familiar, is incredible. So is the fun and achievement quotient.

In addition to the facilities made available by Joe Ramsey in East Anglia we are also offering shooting in the Midlands region. This is a mix of air pistol and shot gun shooting at Kibworth Shooting Ground in Beauchamp, Leicestershire.
