The quiet ‘plop’ of the lure hitting the water and sinking belies the skill that casting demands. And yet this is one of the great levellers of our sporting programme. For sure we may have to adjust the grip, use a Velcro strap, amend or compromise on the swing of the cast, but our clients all enjoy not only the scenic settings and the peace of the countryside, but the thrill of the catch. Of course we have to put them back, but the record shows some massive prize fish.
