Central to everything at Sportability is the activities. The charity has one aim – to provide sport and challenging pursuits for people with paralysis.

People with conditions such as spinal cord injury, stroke, MS, cerebral palsy and others, are able to participate in a variety of sports – scuba diving, sailing, archery, angling, abseiling, canoeing quad-biking, gliding, clay pigeon shooting, motor-sport and more.

It’s not about creating elite sportsmen and women. It is about the adrenaline rush, putting the buzz back into a life corralled by the wheelchair, taking the ‘dis’ out of disability and focusing on ability. To inspire the thought, “If I can do this, what else can I achieve?”

So whether beginner, experienced, expert, whether you are re-visiting a sport that you did years ago before your accident, illness or injury, or whether you are a never-ever, you are welcome to come along and try. That is the key word – ‘try’. It is not about success or failure, it is about trying, pushing the boundaries of what is possible. In over 21 years of organising and running activities we continually see people surprise themselves and their families and friends by what they can do, what they can achieve.

And remember: the activities are all free of charge – they cost you nada, nothing, zilch. So whether you fancy ripping round on a quad-bike, shattering clays, sailing serenely, gliding high or diving low come along and give it a go. You have nothing to lose but your inhibitions.
