Take to the Snow (Indoors) Sit Skiing
Tuesday 31st March 2026
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friends, Amis, Amigos, Amici,
We are delighted to announce another fabulous – Indoor Sit-skiing Event – and yes it is on snow!
GET BOOKING!
We will be working with John and the crew at Disability Snowsport UK on Tuesday 31st March. They are a really enthusiastic posse of people – who will introduce you to the thrills and excitement of sit skiing, or as it is sometimes known “adaptive skiing.”
DSUK operate from a custom built facility at Chill Factore, Manchester, M41 7JA. With a 170m indoor real snow slope, and a smaller beginner slope. It is ideal for all levels of ability – experienced skiers or novices.
After the briefings you’ll get a 45 minute lesson with a private instructor that’s tailored just for you. The sit ski we use is mounted on 2 skis for greater stability. So absolute beginners or never-evers more than welcome!
That’s what we call an Experience!
There are no particular dress requirements, but you need to wrap up warm on the slope – it’s minus 5 degrees out there and gloves are a must! For hygiene reasons, the centre does not hire out gloves or socks. So come prepared with your anoraks, thermals and winter woollies. They also say that you should bring a warm blanket.
We’ll meet at 10.30 am and finish approx 3.00 pm.
The centre is fully wheelchair accessible. There’s plenty of parking space.
So we’ll be seeing you in the reception at: Chill Factore, Beyond 7, Trafford Way, Trafford City, Manchester, M41 7JA . (When searching using Sat Navs they recommend using M17 8DD)
Or click HERE for directions.
The sport will be restricted solely to people within our remit i.e. with some form of paralysis. But, as ever, friends and family are very welcome to come along and watch the fun!
So, to recap: the date and approximate timings for your diary are:
Tuesday 31st March 2026 – arrival 10.30am prompt; finish approx. 3pm
Note: There is some waiting around as the sessions are one on one.
Availability is very limited so, to avoid disappointment, please contact Valerie at Head Office via email: info@sportability.org.uk to book your place.
We hope to see you there!
