We are delighted to announce that Mike and the crew at Aerobility are once again preparing a very special airborne experience for us this Month.

With a fleet of various aircraft – including the workhorse Piper PA-28 Cherokee and the Tecnam, both four seaters – they organised over 300 trial flights each year for people with a whole range of disabilities, including spinal cord injury, stroke and MS. So totally in our zone of operation.

As you’d expect, they are fully regulated and approved by the Civil Aviation Authority to provide flight training and ‘taster’ days – so we’re delighted to be working with them on your behalf.

They are offering us the fascination of powered flight with a couple of really accessible options. For those that can manage, the low-winged Piper is about wheelchair height and with some butt shuffling it’s possible to manoeuvre into the cockpit. Or there’s a hoist that will simply drop you into the seat, should that be the better option.

There’s an accessible loo and ramped access to Aerobility clubhouse where they’ll meet and greet and do the initial briefing. There is also the Bushe Cafe where they do a mean line in paninis and all day breakfasts! But you can also bring your own lunch.

So just to recap on those details:

Blackbushe: Wednesday 5th June 2024. Arrive 11.00am for an 11.30 start until approx. 4.30pm.

We may stagger flight times for your convenience and to avoid waiting around. So if you want an early or later start time, or to be part of a particular group then please advise at the time of booking.

Please note: There are weight and height restrictions to flying.

If you are heavier than 17 stones (250lb or 115kg) or taller than 6’4″/193cm, you will not be able to fly.
