Sailing in East Anglia This May
Thursday 16th May 2019

We are pleased to announce our May 2019 date for Sailing in our East Anglia region. Colin and the crew at the East Anglian Sailing Trust (EAST), will be waiting to welcome you at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, a few miles from Ipswich and just off the A14 towards Felixstowe.

Thursday 16th May 2019 – Arrival time 11.00am – Sailing 11.30am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 2.30pm

Levington lies on the River Orwell which is the estuary from Ipswich to Harwich Harbour and Felixstowe.

EAST will provide several boats for you to experience the joy, the fun, the exhilaration of sailing and there is enough variety for everyone! So complete novices and never-evers are more than welcome.

And for more experienced sailors there are some craft that will test your mettle!

A friendly team of instructors and experienced sailors at the club will get you out on the water whatever your level of expertise.

After sailing sessions, refreshments are on sale at the EAST Waterside Community Centre, which is fully accessible and very user friendly with fully accessible washroom facilities.

There is wheelchair access to all parts of the Centre and onto the pontoon. There is also a purpose built hoist available if needed, for assisting people into and out of boats.

Life Jackets are of course provided, but we suggest that you bring a towel and perhaps a change of clothes – you might get wet!

Don’t worry if you haven’t tried sailing before, there will be plenty of hands-on advice, guidance and instruction.

And remember that with Sportability anyone within our remit can participate free of charge.

You don’t need special clothing, anything that is comfortable is OK. Tracksuits are ideal, but any casual trouser, jeans, tee-shirts and sweatshirts or fleeces are fine. It will always feel cooler on the water, so it is a good idea to bring an extra layer. As mentioned before a change of clothes is also not a bad idea – just in case.

So just to recap on those details:
