Something really different – this is a fascinating introduction to the world of raptors – birds of prey. This very special day of falconry is on Thursday 22nd August 2024 with the team at the Hawk Conservancy Trust, near Andover.
Here’s what the team at HCT say: Your session will include handling and flying a range of bird of prey species, which may include owls, hawks and vultures. This is a relaxed session, to learn about and handle our birds, and to have an intimate insight into the work of the Hawk Conservancy Trust.
The experts at HCT will treat you to a display of hunting and flying that is both impressive and exhilarating. The birds will swoop low over your head, feed whilst perched on your arm, or flash into the lure like an Exocet. And it is all explained in an informative, humorous, earthy style by the hugely knowledgeable and personable team.
It is not only exciting and educational, but a great natural experience!

The Centre is wheelchair accessible and includes the Feathers Restaurant, where they serve hot and cold meals, snacks and drinks
The plan is to meet at 12.30 pm and finish at approximately 4 pm, so the afternoon will look something like this:-
1pm meet the HCT teams – Bird handling – Watch the Masters of the Sky show – Bird Handling (including Burrowing owl session) – Finish at 4pm
Note: This event is weather dependent, as the birds cannot fly in the rain or if it is too hot. We will explain more about this when you book.
