London
This summer saw the launch of a new sailing programme in the heart of London's docklands. Working with the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre based at Millwall dock we were delighted to offer a series Sunday sailings. The weather has precluded more of this for the winter months but we will be back again next summer.
However the weather has no impact on our archery. The Newham Archers have a terrific indoor facility which comes into operation from September each year. Come the spring we will be outside again, but we can now offer archery all year-round.
The London Set-up
We are delighted to advise that we have now formed a collaboration with Judy, Charlie and the team at the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre at Millwall Dock in East London. This is a fully RYA accredited sailing centre with great facilities, including a cafeteria and accessible loos and showers.
Our Try-Sail days take place on Sundays running from 2pm to 5pm. The programme is to go out in pairs with an instructor in the Wayfarer dinghies and get a feel of first time sailing. So please don't worry if you've never done it before - this is your opportunity to get a taste of wind power.
And if you're an experienced sailor, well, why not come along and try the Access 2.03 or 3.03 Dinghies?
For the archery we are again staying east of the capital, at Newham. We’re delighted to be working with Sue, Trevor, Nigel and the team at NA. They have a terrific welcoming and encouraging attitude that has made this sport more accessible. We have Tuesday evening sessions at their base.
