“I’m not a sports fanatic or anything, but there really is no better way to build a life worth living after paralysis. I can tell you that from the heart.”
Welcome To Sportability
The world of Sportability sees people getting out of their wheelchairs, off their crutches and sticks and into canoes, gliders, microlights or sailing boats.
Whether quadbikiing or BloKart sailing, shooting shotguns, air rifles and pistols, or bows and crossbows, it’s about turning their back on ‘disability’ and JUST DOING IT!
Activities by region
- Largest Personal Donation to Sportability - Satram’s Days A magnificent gesture! We are honouring a man who never even heard of Sportability, but this month sees a very special first in the history of the Charity, and he is the unwitting ‘sponsor’. For the first time ever we will have three events on the same day in different regions of the country not once, but twice, during August. These have been funded by the single largest personal donation we have ever received. Satram Chainani lived in Bombay [now known as Mumbai] on the fifth floor of a run-down tenement. As a wheelchair user he was grateful […]
- Back2theTrenches and Sportability - Back 2 The Trenches lives up to its name with a military-themed obstacle course set in 250 acres of private estate, with natural hills, lakes, fields and woodlands. Only the brave survive this extreme obstacle mud run, with barbed wire crawls, hill climbs, mud slides, ‘minefields’, a lake crossing and the all-important trenches! Join our fundraising events and push you and your friends to the limit with choices of 5k, 6k, 10k, 12k, 20k or 24k courses. How to secure a place: Click below to choose the race you wish to enter. - Fantastic Fundraising Effort from Jane - We are thrilled and a little in awe of our stalwart member, Jane Mackenzie, who has managed to raise the Magnificent sum of £600 for Sportability at her recently held coffee morning. In Jane’s own words read how Sportability has changed her attitude and life:- “When you become confined to a wheelchair, you could be forgiven for thinking that life as you once knew it is over and from now on it’s a matter of making the best of a bad job. I won’t lie, I have definitely had those moments and in those moments the future does seem very […]
